Things to do in Jackson Hole when you
don't ski!
![]()
If you want time away from the slopes, there
are plenty of things to keep you busy,
particularly if you love wildlife.

The Elk Refuge Sleigh Ride gets you up close
to herds of elks. The National Museum of
Wildlife Art overlooks the National Elk
Refuge and offers phenomenal western art.
Besides great shops and a picture postcard
western look, The Town of Jackson is chock
full of art galleries to explore; summer
Saturday's offer a Farmer's Market.
There are some bighorn sheep to spot near
the Elk Refuge, but you've got a better
chance to see the beauties if you take a
scenic ride to the town of Dubois and check
in at the National Bighorn Sheep
Interpretive Center.
Keep your eye open in the parks for bull
moose and herds of bison.
Take an unforgettable Dog Sled ride--one
leaves from the teton Village Nordic center.
We love snowmobiling in Towgotee; outfitters
can take you to Yellowstone or Granite Creek
for guided or unguided snowmobile rides. In
the summer, you can kayak whitewater raft,
or a scenic float trip along the Snake
River.
